Provides a discount of up to $30 per month towards broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price. Program ends when funding runs out, or six months after the Department of Health and Human Services declares an end to the COVID-19 emergency, whichever is sooner. Households enrolled in the previous EBB program will need to 'opt-in' to ACP to continue receiving internet services. If continued, participant will be billed provider's general monthly rate. Some households may receive internet at no cost based on recent participating providers reducing high-speed internet fees.

Required Documents
Proof of identity (one of the following: SS, Tribal ID, US Drivers License, US Military ID, Other Gov't issued ID, State ID, Passport, Individual Tax ID number, proof of income (tax return or official documentation containing income information), proof of loss of income (termination or furlough notice). Identity documents must contain first and last name, and date of birth. Social Security numbers are not required to participate but using one will aid in speed of application process.
Eligibility
See website for specific qualifications. Households have new ways to qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program such as: receiving WIC benefits or having an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Households that qualified due to a substantial loss of income related to job loss or furlough or by meeting the eligibility criteria for a participating provider's COVID-19 program will need to requalify for the Affordable Connectivity Program. These households will receive additional details about the steps they need to take from the program administrator (USAC) or their broadband provider, and will be given at least 30 days to respond.

Intake Procedure
Ask existing provider if they are participating; if so, provider can help with application process. Otherwise, apply online or mail in application with required documentation. EBB Fixed Broadband refer to home internet; EBB Mobile Broadband refers to wireless internet, similar to cell phone services. Visit website for more information and participating internet providers.
